Dear Laurie,
On behalf of Geneva Centre for Autism, let me say how pleased we are that you have selected us to receive 10% of your net sales of Crafty Kits. We’re very excited to partner with you in this new business venture.
As you are aware, Geneva Centre for Autism (GCA) celebrated 30 years of service in 2004 and is a clinical and resource centre for children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. It is the only Centre of its kind in Canada, and an international leader in the autism field. Our vision is successful community inclusion, and our mission is to empower individuals with autism, and their families, to fully participate in their communities. The Centre provides direct intervention, counselling, information and support services to more than 4,200 children and families in the Greater Toronto Area.
Children with autism struggle each and every day to communicate and interact with people they can’t relate to, and to behave within social norms that they don’t understand. The disorder affects every facet of their lives – from play to school and, eventually to work. Understanding social norms and interacting with others are typically among the biggest challenges faced by children with autism spectrum disorders. To assist them in developing the necessary understanding and appropriate behaviours to integrate successfully into schools, workplaces and the community, Geneva Centre for Autism offers an extensive Social Skill Building Program for children 3-18 years of age.
The funds donated through the sale of Crafty Kits will go directly to support our Social Skill Building program and to making a difference in the lives of children living with the challenges of autism.
Sincerely
Heather Clark
